Lauren Derkowski has played softball for over 10 years, including two years at the University of Michigan. She is excited to share her passion and help younger players achieve their pitching goals!

BIOGRAPHY

 

Sophomore (2023)

• CSC Academic All-District

• All-Big Ten second team

• NFCA All-Great Lakes Region second team

• Appeared in 37 games, starting 30 in the circle

• Posted a 2.12 ERA, five complete-game shutouts, 223 strikeouts and two saves

• Named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week (April 17)

• Threw back-to-back no-hitters at Purdue (April 14-15), totaling 20 strikeouts and three walks over 14 innings; she became the first Michigan pitcher in program history to record no-hitters in consecutive starts

• Tossed a one-hit shutout vs. #21 Northwestern (April 22) with six strikeouts over five innings

• Also posted a five-inning shutout vs. Michigan State (April 18)

• Fanned 10 and allowed just one run on six hits and two walks in a 3-1, 10-inning win at Ohio State (March 26)

• Recorded a career-high 14 strikeouts in a 2-1, eight-inning win at CSU Fullerton (March 2)

• Also posted 11 strikeouts and allowed four hits in a 3-2 win vs. Seattle at the Judi Garman Classic (March 3)

Freshman (2022)

• Appeared in 19 games, starting five in the circle

• Posted a 3-3 record with a 2.19 ERA and 43 strikeouts through 44.2 innings pitched

• Won in relief in the regular-season finale at Wisconsin (May 8), striking out six while one hit through 3.1 innings

• Also posted six strikeouts and allowing one run on three hits through 5.1 innings against Penn State (April 9)

• Earned first collegiate save at #9 Northwestern (April 3), allowing one run on one hit and a walk through 1.1 innings

• Made collegiate debut vs. Kansas City at the USF Tournament (Feb. 11), striking out five through two shutout innings

Prep

• Graduated from York Community High School (2021)

• Selected to the NFCA All-North Region first team (2021)

• Three-time Illinois High School Association (IHSA) All-State honoree (2018, '19, '21)

• Named My Suburban Life Softball Player of the Year (2021) and three-time All-Area Team (2018, '19, '21)

• Three-time West Suburban All-Conference Player (2018, '19, '21)

• Extra Innings High School National Player of the Week (2021)

• MaxPreps Freshman All-America Team (2018)

• Posted 754 career strikeouts over three prep years

• As a senior (2021), posted a 20-3 record, with a 0.56 ERA and 257 strikeouts over 124 IP and batted .500 with 12 home runs and 36 RBI

• Named York High School's 2020-21 Senior Female Athlete of the Year

• Three-time York team captain and team MVP (2018, '19, '21)

• Played travel ball with Tennessee Mojo club
